Conventional wealth management reporting is retrospective. It tells you what your portfolio returned last quarter, how it compares to a benchmark, and how it has performed since inception. This information is useful for evaluating the quality of investment management. It is nearly useless for planning the financial decisions you need to make today.

Predictive Wealth Analytics is a forward-looking system that answers the questions that actually matter to a high-net-worth Canadian approaching or in retirement: Will I have enough income? When should I take CPP? How much can I withdraw from my RRSP this year without pushing into a higher tax bracket? If my portfolio drops 25%, will my retirement income plan still work?

Retirement Income Projection

The retirement income projection model integrates your current RRSP, RRIF, TFSA, non-registered, and pension balances with your CPP entitlement (drawn from Service Canada data), your OAS eligibility, your projected earned income, and your expected expenses. It produces a year-by-year income projection from today through age 95, showing the income you will receive from each source, the tax you will pay on that income, and the after-tax income available for your lifestyle.

Scenario Analysis

The most valuable function of Predictive Wealth Analytics is not the base case projection — it is the scenario analysis. For each client, the system maintains a minimum of twelve scenarios: base case, early CPP vs. late CPP, early death, market correction, interest rate shock, health shock requiring increased care spending, and several client-specific scenarios developed in consultation with the advisory team. Seeing the range of possible outcomes — and the decisions that improve or worsen each outcome — is the foundation of genuinely informed financial planning.

A financial plan that only works if everything goes right is not a plan. It is a hope. A plan built on scenario analysis is a plan that works when things go wrong.
